FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Got a query? Please don't hesitate to contact us for any and every enqiry, but for those who like to be in the know, here's a few of the most commonly asked questions!
Q: What time is the tariff change?
A: Time and a quarter begins at 11pm and ends at 6am as set by Kirklees Council, and is the same across Kirklees.
It's a common misconception that the tariff changes at midnight.
Some fares are exempt from this rule, to find about our range of staff discounts, to and from work out of hours, then contact our office.
Q: If i take a long distance taxi journey, (e.g. Leeds), do i get charged any extra on the way back? A: No, on the contrary, our fares are charged the same either way. The only extra you may have to pay is the after 11pm tariff, that is if you travel after 11pm. (Respectively)
Plus, we generally charge less than other firms from out of town for a like for like journey, meaning you save money and still benefit from our friendly drivers and operators who know you so well!
Q: Do I need a car seat for young chldren?
A: Taxis and private hire vehicles are exempt from the car seat law, so not necessarily. Although it is a good idea, especially for long journeys to use a car seat, so many customers who travel to the airport provide their own; which we are happy to look after for you in the office until you come back.
As with everything else, just let us know beforehand; and we'll do the rest! Please note that we do not provide car seats.
Q: I've got 12 people, can I order a 12 seater?
A: 12 Seaters don't operate in Kirklees council under taxis. They are seperate entities registeresd as coach companies. Our maximum capacity vehicle is an 8 seater, for 8 passengers, but plenty of luggage space also.
To accomodate many passengers, we can use multiple vehicles, and still give you the best price!
